Farma Sotira, a rural retreat in south Albania

Located in Gërmenj-Shelegur Reserve, Farma Sotira is a farm and agroturizëm perfect for those looking for relaxation, quiet and silence. At an altitude of 1.000 meters before the sea level, this family retreat surrounded by lakes, mountains and forests -where live bears, wolfs, and wild boars- is a true gem. Farma Sotira lies on the road between Përmet and Korça, far from the crowded Adriatic and Ionian beaches, this underrated Albanian region, about 15 km from the Greek border, is a natural wonder.

ROOMS

Farma Sotira is an eco-friendly retreat with wooden structures. It is managed by Jonida and Jeton a couple who established this place in 1998. The comfortable bungalows with sloping roofs overlook a large valley where guests in the evening can make bonfires and chat with neighbors, while in the morning the animals farm graze freely. A place where silence, tranquility and respect for nature meet and perfectly mix.

FOOD & DRINKS

The local restaurant offers a seasonal menu of farm-fresh produce. Surrounded by a fishpond, this is the perfect place for tasting local specialties while relaxing with the sound of water and nature. Order the local trout, traditional byrek with spinach and cheese or milk and fresh salad -everything is as tasty as it looks.

EXPERIENCES

At Farma Sotira you can choose between a range of several activities, like horse excursions, trekking, swimming in the pool filled with spring water, and biking. Explore the surrounding area and reach Sarandopolos thermal baths, a true natural paradise a few kilometers away from the farm. Also, Farma Sotira is the first place in whole Albania that offers apitherapy courses, from April to September. This healing practice is based on a series of treatments that aim to recover the physical and mental health with the products collected, transformed and secreted by bees.
